A Tribute to the Ubiquitous Circular Handle in Macross

Today, we’re giving a tribute to the artwork of Macross, specifically to the ubiquitous circular handle!  We see this handle on the character’s uniforms and helmets.  We also see it all over the veritech fighter.

The handle appears on the upper torso of the jumper-suit uniform, on the back.

  1. I heard Kawamori said (to be exact read) that originaly those were “Vernier thrusters”, mini vapor jets to make little trajectory adjustments, funcional in atmosfere and VERY powerful in space; real airplanes use them.

Later it became a neat consitency, like if it were part of the Protoculture or Reflex technology at least
