Yamato’s Battle Suit Queadluun-Rau Maximilian Jenius

At the beginning of the final battle scene in Macross the movie, we see Miriya and Max in Queadluun-Rau’s:

Yamato recently re-issued Max’s Queadluun-Rau, and it does not come with a Max action figure:

However, in CM’s Corporation’s Macross Figure Collection #3, there is a Max action figure, and it fits in this Queadluun-Rau!  But you have to remove Max’s feet.

Miriya’s action figure, made by Yamato, has no articulation.  Note that her feet are close together, so that the figure can fit inside the cockpit:

I’m wondering why Yamato decided not to include the Miriya action figure.  I have one guess:  these action figures are made of PVC’s (polyvinyl chloride), which can emit odors.  And boy, do the CM’s Corporation’s Macross action figures smell!  I keep the Max action figure in a closed plastic display case.  If anyone has any advice on how to get rid of these odors, please let me know.  I read that keeping the figure in baking soda can help, but I tried that, and it didn’t help.

    How much is the retail price of that MAX add-on pilot figure? I badly need one for my quad.

      Okim, the Max action figure comes as a gashapon figure, meaning that in Japan, you would buy them at a little toy vending machine. You can buy a box with 12 figures in it; it’s the Macross Figure Collection #3 (see http://www.hlj.com/product/CMS65031 ), but you can’t be guaranteed you’ll get all the figures. If you just want Max, the best bet is eBay.

    For the odor try:

    -activated carbon: (found in refrigerator anti odor pellets, inside a Brita TM water filter, coal, yes coal…but the two first options don´t stain

    – Ecolo TM a canadian (hopefully ) online tha has a line for any chemical o biological bad odor or industrial toxin

    -Any oxidative formula that you are SURE would NOT damage vynil

    -Sodium in thin dust so you get a little bit toxic to eat salt NaCl (chloro PLUS Sodium)

    Hope, any of this works for you, i have tried all, all of them works but with drawbacks
